Valley of Fire and Nate's 9th Birthday

Since we bought our new trailer I have made it a goal to go camping at least once a month.  Even in the winter ;)  We happened to have a free weekend at the end of December and decided to go south to enjoy some sunshine.  The Valley of Fire was our destination.  It was GORGEOUS!   I think that Valley of Fire will be a favorite destination for Fall and Spring camping.

Nate celebrated his 9th Birthday while we were out there.  He thought that was cool to spend his birthday camping.  Not everyone gets to do that.  Luckily Valley of Fire is close to Las Vegas and Las Vegas is were most of my family lives, therefore, most of my family was able to spend the day with us.

The boys, including Jamey, spent tons of time hiking on the beautiful red cliffs.  The adults spent hours visiting and catching up on the latest news and eating Navajo tacos.
The area is FILLED with petroglyphs.  It was fun to search the walls of the red hills to find the hidden messages.
