Happenings....

Last week we said Goodbye to Burkeley....He will be entering the Marie Reserves.  Nate was not too sure he wanted him to leave and even said to me a few times. "I will miss Burke." and "I dont want Burke to leave."  Although Burke does not spend a lot of time with his brothers he is a calm and steady example for them.  We are proud of his decision to become a United States Marine!

Steve and his Dad have been wood chopping fools the past few weeks.  This is my in-laws backyard in Diamond Valley.  That is a whole lot of wood!!  Our backyard looks much the same.  Steve says the next thing we need to learn to do is cook with it.  I'm thinking that I need to learn to cook on a real stove first before I venture into the world of cooking over a wood stove.

We celebrated my moms birthday in Cedar City. I sure appreciate Melinda and Brian for being so talented and for always giving us a reason to get together as a family!!

Tyler's football team did awesome this year.  They won every game but one.  Tyler  started every game.  For a kid that just started playing football last year he has done pretty dang good.  I was never really a fan of school sanctioned sports.  I had the idea that school should be for academic learning.  Sure. sports are important but perhaps the city should be taking over that area. Lets  use tax payer monies to fund academics.  I have now come around...........Tyler has done so well in school this year BECAUSE of school sanctioned football.  He earned a 3.8 GPA for the first term of school and was Student of the Month.  Now he has his sights set on throwing the Javelin during track season.
Don't you just love Luke???

My recent happiness was finding this awesome bed set at Target.  I seriously have been  looking for a new set for at least a year.  I would find a set that I liked but then couldn't find sheets to match or I would find the sheets I wanted but the bedding set I wanted wasn't the correct size.  Finally, one day it all came together for me. Happy me.

Austin earned his Arrow of Light and advanced to the Boy Scout Program.  He is bound and determined to earn his Eagle before Tyler.  He think that it would be funny if he were able to get his drivers licences before Tyler.

oh where to start? I can't make fun of te wood choping since I LOVE REAL FIRES. Tyler is a hottie and you are so lucky that he is such a good boy. And way to go him in school!!! He's so good. Luke's photobomb is awesome. And I too have been looking for a new besdset for a year...hours and hours and hours. It's rough. I wish I'd have known you were going through the same thing and we could have had a support group going on. And lastly, you're pretty dang funny and should be proud of yourself.
