This is a letter that Steve wrote for the Webb Family Newsletter. Steve's Mom comes from the Webb Family. This blog is usually written though the eyes of me, Rachelle, but I thought you might enjoy reading about how he perceives our life.
Howdy Family!,
This is the Hurricane Christians. It has been forever since we have written. Sorry, were busy people (not really). Were doing good. Rachelle is loving teaching 1st grade at 3 Falls Elementary. Not really, she is having a midlife teaching crisis (that's what I call it). She just needs a change of landscape. She has a pretty tough class this year. Maybe she can come teach for you Uncle Don, again. He He! I'm loving being a full time Firefighter/Paramedic for Hurricane City soon to be the Hurricane Valley Fire District. It is my dream job. Get paid to save lives and run into burning buildings. Burkeley is 16 going on 23 and having fun running cross country and track. He works at the fat farm (that's what I call it) in Ivins. I think he even has a girlfriend (not good). Tyler is 13 going on 21. He is in 7th grade and has all the girls going after him (yes, I can remember those days). We keep threatening to shave his head because it keeps getting in his eyes. He also can not drive until he gets his eagle, so he might be 21 when he gets his license. Austin is 10 and the middle child. He is the glue that holds all the boys together. He is always in the middle of everything. He loves going to the fire station and running around the fire trucks, so do all the boys. He is the sensitive one of the family (after me). Luke just turned 8, we baptised him last month. He is the trouble maker of the family. He is always getting into mischief. (I also remember those days) He is so skinny I think he might have worms. No that is my excuse. Nathan is 6 and still the little baby of the family. We hiked 3 falls trail in Hurricane today and he fell and scraped his knee and I had to carry him the last 3/4 of a mile. (Yes I am still tough) I don't know if we told you all but he had a little accident last fall when he fell out of the back of my truck and scalped himself (no more ridding in the back of trucks) It was pretty scary. Me being a Paramedic I see these kinds of things all the time, but it was different when it happens to my family. He did not have a broken bone anywhere. The angels must have cushioned his fall when he hit the pavement, that's the only way you can explain him not having any broken bones or brain injury. Were pretty lucky. Priesthood blessings also helped, which I am very grateful to have the Priesthood and to be able to call upon that great power to heal and make things better. We are all happy and healthy (depends on your definition of mental health) and having fun in Hurricane. Sometimes we get lonely down here so anytime you up north family members want to come stay, we have an extra bedroom and bathroom we added on a few years ago. Here are some pics of some hikes we have went on the last week or so. We love you all!
Steve
