Camping in Pine Lake

We spent the better part of this week camping at Pine Lake. It is up by Bryce Canyon. Steve's family always camped there while he was growing up. He remembers big family reunions there with his Mom's family. Clark even remembers going there to camp and fish while he was engaged to Laurel. As Leslie, Steve's sister, and I were contemplating if we really should go, rather how we could get out of going, Steve said, "This has been going on for years! It is nothing new! So, just go and quit worrying about it!"

Eli, Dean and Jeff listened intently as Austin gave them lessons about fishing. He was so cute explaining all the uses for everything in his tackle box. He loved fishing in the lake but I think he enjoyed playing with is cousins even more.

This is the Sevier River. The big boys and Dads got up early each morning and fished the river. They had tons of luck. I think Burke ended up catching the biggest fish. Luke caught the first fish of the trip. He was so excited!

Everyone in Steve's family went except his sister Kim. She is expecting a baby at the end of the month. Also Leslie's daughter Kenzie didn't make it. I enjoyed visiting with everyone and seeing how everyone had grown. I was loving the fact that we could camp and not have diapers to change and be so worried every second of the trip over a young child. I had been to this area camping two other times and this time was the best by far. I essentially was along for the ride. Steve took care of all the packing and preparing. Clark and Laurel planning and cooked all the meals. We had a little family fireside each night. I loved listening to Clark's stories and his wisdom.

All in all it was a successful trip. The boys were a bit worried about me going with them. They told me not to ruin their fun. Nate told me one night that I can come to Pine Lake with them but I cant go to Goldstrike with them. No Problem!!!
