Three Falls Elementary
Since mid-July, first-grade teacher Rachelle Christian has worked to get her classroom ready for the first day of school. But even with the preparations, there was still a rush to get her own children ready for the first day of school."It's a crazy time," Christian said while greeting her new students Tuesday at Three Falls Elementary School in Hurricane. Christian greeted each child with a smile, introducing herself and finding out pick-up schedules from moms and dads as they brought their children into the room. Although Christian lives in the Coral Canyon school area, her first- and third-grade sons attend Three Falls and son Luke is right across the hallway in Teresa Seese's first-grade class. "It's convenient to have them here with me," Christian said of her two elementary school children. Christian did have to pass on taking her sixth-grade son, Tyler, to school since she still had to get her 4-year-old son, Nate, ready for preschool as well as getting herself off to work. Luke said he wasn't nervous about his first day at school as a first grader as he quickly got himself settled at his desk. Rachelle said as far as being a working mom, teaching and having two of her kids at the same school was the best of both worlds."A lot of working moms can't do that," she said.
